An update of sorts

March 26, 2009 · 8 Comments

One has been MIA for, uhm, a week. Apologies. :( I haven’t been motivated to write my usual blah blah, and, now this is the very suckish bit, the internet on my laptop died  a few days ago :’(. There is something seriously wrong with it.

My fat excuses for sisters refuse to let me go on the computer, and whenever I do manage to push them off it (by pushing/dragging them off the chair and/or threatening to beat the crappity outta them. I am such an awesome big sis) the silly women complain and nag and cry and whatever…then they push/drag/ and/or threaten to beat me up and I get off. Sigh.

Aaaanyway, a lot of things have happened this week, and I need to update you all! Let us list the point using heart bullet points… ZOMG IT DOESN’T HAVE HEART BULLET POINTS! ARGHHH! (Heart bullet points, along with tables, databases and highlighters, are my reasons for living. Amongst other things, like food. )

We shalt improvise.

<3 I have been cordially invited to the house of Mev Bev Kev to clean her room. :P She is under the impression I am a neat freak and wants me to tidy up cause she’s just too lazy to do it herself! But my daddy said no. :(

<3 My ammi jaan is forcing wants us sisters to sing a nasheed at the gathering of some aunty of ours. Pfft! I told her I don’t think so, and she was all, “Vhy?”

It’s just not happening, mum.

<3 A good friend of mine (who actually used to be known as The Girl Behind Me on this bloggy-I think she only appeared once) has said she will make me carrot cake next week. You do not understand how happy this makes me. I luuurvveeee carrot cake. It’sh shoooo tashty! :)

<3 I have gone in a sorta reading slump. I cannae be bothered to read anything at all! I have so many books on my library card (which is very hip, by the way) and I just…ugh. I’m just not in the mood to read. Which is insane, really, because hello! One of those books is a romance novel, kindly borrowed from my good friend Jamie.

I love you, Jamie. (Not that you are reading this but that is beside the point.)

<3 My Arabic teacher likes my heart bullet points. I did them in red for her. :D

<3 Whenever Miss Head-Mrs Head, whatever-marches into our class to lecture us about random so called “crimes” we have committed  I cannot help but laugh. I have to hide my face under my scarf because she can see me, and I can’t seem to stop myself. The things that come out of her mouth just crack me up. She’s not trying to be funny or anything, but it’s all so silly!

I need to learn how to control myself.

<3 I think Jamie Oliver is the awesomest. I love his new series, Oliver’s Twist. I’ve only watched, like, two episodes, but I lowves it. His style id so rad! And I love how he calls everyone “big boy” and “me old darlin’!” *Giggles*

I think that is it for now. Oh wait! Just in case anyone’s wondering, I won’t be commenting or whatever for a while due to exams and what not, but me is still reading! (When my sisters decide to move their butt off the computer chair and let me go on. Or my lappie gets fixed. Whichever happens first. )

Brides, brownies and other random oddities

MCCALL COVER, JUNE BRIDE

Today in school, Outcast pulled my cheeks (it’s her thing), called me a blushing bride, then proceeded to write a story about a bored and blushing bride (me) whose manly husband (Mustafa)  whispered sweet nothings in her ear.

****

I make a big fuss about having to do P.E. I’m very unactive and try to be as lazy as possible. When the class gets all excited about playing rounders, I groan and have to literally drag myself up outta my chair.

However, once outta my chair and onto the pitch (hahaha!), I become quite hyper and start cheering (a little too) loudly for the other team, sing random sings that pop into my head, make Mustafa and other friends carry me on their back, sit back and watch others humiliate themselves because they can’t hit the ball, laugh hysterically at nothing and start prancing around with the bat when it’s my turn.

It’s actually quite fun! (Also, I made, like, 2 and a half rounders on Monday! Well, I would’ve if that meddling kid hadn’t caught the ball and got me out!)

****

I am planning on cooking this weekend. Either brownies or oreo fudge bars. This is going to be the first time I have ever cooked (willingly) so be proud of me! :P

And help me decide what to make! Pretty please!

****

I am slightly in love with all things Pioneer Woman. I think she is just the awesomest lady in the whole wide world. And she makes me want to live out on a ranch!

****

The word awesome is slowly but surely taking the place of the word ace in my vocabulary. It is quite rad. (:

****

We are going paint balling. I’m not sure when, or where, but I know why. It’s physics-related. Don’t ask me how. I wasn’t listening that lesson. But ZOMG PAINT BALLING! YAAAY!

I will shoot everyone. *Manic evil laughter*

****

I got called vivacious on the weekend. AWESOOOOOME!

****

Apparently, on Monday morning I was a little too smiley. About three people asked me, “Why are you so happy today?” I resorted to replying, “Mornings make me happy.”

I am not exactly sure if that is true. I was just glad to be back with my fwendies. (:

****

I have these sorta scrapbooks that I keep. I stick random stuff in them, like notes we pass in class, weddings rings and mangal sutras made outta tissue paper; draw stuff like crazy stars and hearts all over the page, stick men; write not-so-private diary entries, song lyrics, famous quotes, funny stuff…and…I write down things that people say.

Okay, not, like, famous people or whatever. Just stuff that people in my class-my friends or my teachers-say. Things I find funny, cute, inspirational, weird and downright stupid. It’s how I treasure memories. And it’s fun!

The whole class nick those books, add in their own stuff and generally just waste time flicking through it. It makes them happy. :)

****

I love getting compliments! I adore, absolutely adore, people who give me honest compliments. Fake compliments, or over-exaggerated ones, make me smile but I know they’re not true. Sometimes I’ll get all shy and I’ll be like, no! I’m not! It’s not true! But…that’s just me being weird. I’m usually pretty good at receiving compliments, and give the person a HUGE Falaki-type smile. :D

A lot of people have complimented me over the past, uh, few months/weeks/days, so to them: THANK YOUUUU! You guys make my day. (This totally includes Harebi for calling me vivacious. I seriously love that word. :D )

****

I think I should stop now.

I’ll torture you some more later. :)

Love, Falak

OooOoohh!

*Squeals excitedly*

GUESS WHAT?! Guess, guess, guess! OOOOHH, YOU’LL NEVER GUESS! Okay, I’ll tell you. Wait.

*Jumps up and down crazily*

*Twirls* *twirls* *twirls*

*Hyper star jumps*

I SAW SMILEY TODAAAAAY! I saw her in a clothes shop…I didn’t realise it was her at first, but then she smiled at me and, being nice, I gave a huge grin back. I turned away after that but I was wondering…y’know, this kurri looks kinda familiar…I turned around to look at her again and then, surprised, I asked, “Smiley?” She nodded/said “Yeah” (can’t remember which, maybe it was both. Curse this useless memory!)

Then we gave each other a massive hug and I said salaam to her and her mum and OOOHHHH it was just so RAD! :D :D:D:D Her mum said I should come visit them sometime…I might just take her up on that offer, insha’Allah! :)

Shmiley, I miss you LOADSH! It was brilliant seeing you again! BIG HUG! :D
